Abstract In this paper, we will analyse optimal uniform quantizer construction method for wide volume range (for variable variance) with the respect to the mean-square error as a performance evaluation measure. Optimality conditions and solutions for optimal number of levels and phase partitions are also presented. We will also consider range width as well as number of representation levels influences on optimal quantizer selection. |
